Despite the rain on April 22, about 48 Wilmot residents gathered at the Wilmot Recreation Complex to plant trees for Earth Day.
JUST THE FACTS
• The event was organized by Let’s Tree Wilmot with support from Wilmot Township.
• About 200 trees were planted between the recreation complex and Highway 7 and 8. “It was amazingly good,” said Dean Peachey, chair of Let’s Tree Wilmot Project Committee.
• This was the group’s 11th tree planting event but the first one this year.
• The upcoming tree planting events are on May 7 and May 15.
